2 BOYFRIENDS!? - POLYAMORY (by lacigreen)

A 4:33 video by Laci Green explaining what polyamory is (comparing it to polygamy, monogamy, and swinging, for example) and dispelling some myths, in a light-hearted and non-judgmental way.

The beginning and end of this video are a bit cheesilicious, but THIS is what I’m talking about, people. Trust, respect, fun, and learning in relationships with multiple people.

I love Laci Green. She is able to articulate misconceptions about sexual relationships or fetishes in a way where no one can fight back with prejudice. I particularly like this video RIGHT NOW because I am reading a book called Sex at Dawn, which is a thesis about how our views on monogamy have become skewed over time. 

So far in the book it has stated that we ‘Flintstonize’ our behavior, reflecting what we think is ok now, into the past. This means creating the idea that women have always been lower, and a commodity for men who want their genes to be spread generation after generation. New ways of looking at it, and studies, have actually discovered we are closer to the primate bonobo, where females are the leaders and there is less violence (because everyone has each other as a partner). This hasn’t come out of nowhere either. Taking a step back from Western society and suddenly there are communities of people who have multiple partners, or don’t care about marriage. 

So then how could marriage be universal?
